At the age of 17 I found myself without any aims or purpose in life. I felt very empty inside although I had many friends because I belonged to a street gang.

One day we found out about a new cafe opening up called the A6. It had previously been closed down by the police; it was now being run by some Christians. We went along solely to have fun at their expense but they won us round and invited us to go to Church. We all turned up one Sunday night (you should have seen the look on the people’s faces!) , but on this night 8th November 1960 I first heard about Jesus and His love for me His willingness to forgive and give me a new life, which I wanted.

We were asked to put our hands up if we would like Jesus to come into our lives and change them for the better. I said “if you are real God then I will put up my hand if all my friends do the same”. To my surprise they did. I willingly gave my heart and life to Jesus….. I have never regretted it.
